Merly Impressions had an extended crop day on Saturday from 10am till 8pm. What a lovely day we had.Included in the cost was a kit with two main layout instructions and further instructions to make an additional layout out of the bits that were left. We had tea, coffee and Paul's wonderful cakes on tap all day.
To top it we had the most delicious buffet tea that was delivered late afternoon. It was lovely to catch up with friends that I last met at the retreat and have a good chat. Needless to say I didn't finish the layouts.....only one!! I was very good though and finished the other and the additional one on Sunday.
I still had some " bits" left over so I went on and made another layout with those bits, only needed to add the pink cardstock. Waste not want not is my motto LOL!
The kit used was the Secret Garden Collection by Kaisercraft
These are the two layouts that Chrissy had designed for us
Please excuse the wonky photography!!
Here is the additional one that she also designed
and to finish off this is the one that I myself did with the rest of the bits
Anyone interested in the cops that are run every other month and are near enough to Bedford to attend here are the dates for the next few months.

A crafty Sunday!
I had a peaceful crafty day yesterday so I caught up with a few pages. I might do the same later on today but can't start yet otherwise I'll have a little " helper". Sophie is here for a few hours, arriving in 30 minutes, while mummy is at work.
Here are the layouts I made yesterday.
Right, better get some lunch before she arrives!

Using up scraps!
Just a very quick post today as I have a million and one things to do!! Why does everything creep up on you all at once I wonder?
Anyhow, here is a layout I put together yesterday with just some scraps of very neutral bits of paper that were actually on their way into the waste bin. I used a Tim Holtz mask and some gesso to make the random chevrons. I randomly stamped with a couple of different Kaisercraft background stamps and added a few strips of paper........voila there's a layout. I was pretty pleased at how it came out if I'm honest:)
Another page in Sophie's 2nd year album done!
That's it from me for today. Have a good day!

Love this paper!
I think thispaper must have been brought out especially for my scrapbooking. As many of you know I'm making a dance scrapbook album(s) for my dancing granddaughter Molly. I've already filled a 8.5 x 11 and having done that size once, that was enough. I really can't get the hang of this size but it was a dilemma regarding the size of the following album. 12 x 12 was a bit too big and would take up a lot of storage space so I decided to go with an 8 x 8 size instead. So, as I said these 6.5 x 6.5 paper pads from Kaisercraft are ideal for this size layouts.
Here are a couple of layouts that I made with this " On Stage" paper. The first one is a bit of a scrap lift of one that Pam Thorburn made for the Merly Impressions blog.
I can see this paper together with the "All that Glitters" that Kaisercraft have also brought out becoming very useful to have with all these dance photos!

Crop Time
I was really ready for a lovely day at Merly Impressions crop yesterday. I've had the decorator here for a couple of weeks so scrapping has been put on the back boiler. As usual we had a lovely time with two fabulous layouts designed by Chrissy using the recently released Shine Bright range
For the first time ever ( I think) I managed to virtually finish both layouts at the crop. I had a little retail therapy at the wonderfully stocked shop so I went ahead and made a couple more layouts last night.....strike while the iron is hot so to speak!!
This one I made with some of the papers I bought yesterday, another recently released range called Oh so lovely lovely lovely range and very girly and delicate.
It's hard to believe looking at this photo of Emily that she was 14 last week, how time flies!
Just one more that I made with some spare bits of paper of Sophie to fill a gap in her album.
That's it for today, thank you for popping in.

Look what I won in the raffle!!
I went to Merly Impressions crop yesterday and look what I won in the raffle
I'm so excited to get started in decorating this. I've decided to use this line of paper from Kaisercraft to do it in.I don't know how long it will take because it is quite big but I will post it when it's finished.
Again, as always it was a lovely day, chatting with friends, eating lovely cake and a lot of fussy cutting as per usual on Chrissy's kit layouts. She really does produce some beautiful layouts for us to make. Goes without saying that I didn't completely finish them before it was time to pack up ( I never do Lol!) but I was very good and finished them both off last night.
Using the gorgeous Cherry Blossom line here are the two layouts I made out of the kit.
It's a beautiful day her,sun shining and not too cold. Hope it's the same where you are and thanks for popping in.

Happy New Year
Well there goes 2014 and in comes the New Year. Hope you had a lovely time over Christmas and that 2015 will be a healthy and prosperous New Year to all.
I've been fairly productive this week. I decided to "strike whilst the iron was hot" as they say and scrap a few of this year's Christmas pages. With 5 grandchildren and two daughters. each with their own album it takes a bit of time to keep them all going!!
I've also caught up with Molly's dancing album, well up to the end of 2013 that is. Still got the photos from 2014 festivals to scrap. I've also decided that I've had enough of scrapping in 8.5 x 11. I don't like it,I don't find it very easy to get a balanced page so therefore it's taking me a long time to get going or have the incentive to scrap the photos. From the 2014 photos I've decided to make them 8 x 8. To make a 12 x 12 album you then come across the storage......the albums are rather large so 8 x 8 it is.
Anyhow back to the Christmas layouts, here are a few. Used a mixture of various manufacturers including some fairly old Papermania paper for the grid one of Sophie.....papers went well with her Dr McStuffin medical case!!
I'll be back tomorrow with some more I've made this week.
Thanks for popping in

Crop layouts.
Had a lovely day at Merly Impressions crop last week. Lots of chatting, lovely eats and a fab shop....... what more could one want?
Here are the two pages that were in the kit this month. Both were designed by Chrissy so it goes without saying that there was some fussy cutting!
You can now buy the crop kits from their website if you can't manage to get to the crop for any reason. This month we used the Rustic Harmony collection.
There was some " bits" left over so I made this page with what I had left.
I also made another page with a photo that has been in the " to scrap" photo box for quite some time. This was made with the Fancy Pants Timbergrove collection.
Well that's it for today. Thanks for popping in and have a good week-end.
xx

Yeh! nearly crop time!
That's right,it's crop Saturday this week-end and I'm so looking forward to it. I need to do some crafting as I've done enough sewing over the last three weeks, sewing costumes for the girl's ballet show.
A couple of pages I've done before then in addition to a few pages that I've made for Molly's dancing album. I must take some photos of those pages one day.
Anyhow the first one is of Sophie in her Elsa costume. They were asked to dress up as super heroes at playschool for Children in Need Day. According to Sophie, Elsa (from Frozen) is actually a super hero because " You do know don't you that she defrosted the whole of Arendell" who can argue with that little statement!!
This one is of my daughter Sian who is playing the part of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar with a local musical theatre group this week. She didn't think her blonde hair suited the part so she dyed it a mid-brown colour! Takes a bit of getting used to but I quite like it.Her husband on the other hand isn't so keen!! I thought it would be a good idea to do a before and after page to record why she did it.
We've got a lovely kit promised for Saturday and as always Chrissy comes up with a couple of fab pages which I will post after the week-end.
Till then, thank you for popping in :)

Crop Layouts
As promised, here are the three crop layouts I've put together over the week-end.
Chrissy of of Merley Impressions has used the Kaisercraft Paradise Collection for the two layout kit. Included in the kit was a multi-photo page protector so we could,if we wished, make another layout with the left over stash.
and here is the multi-page that I made as the extra:
and together as a double layout
You can buy the crop kits on-line too now, hurry while stocks last

Challenge Time
Yes,the September challenge is up on Merlyimpressions blog so I thought I would have a go,hope you do too.
Here's what I came up with. A couple of summer photos of Sophie in the garden with her new sunglasses fitted the bill. She thought she was the cat's whiskers in these. This girl is so girly girly I hate to think what she's going to be like when she's older!
I've got another couple that I'll upload soon. They're the once I did at the Merly crop yesterday. Just need to put the finishing touches on the extra layout that I did in addition to the two that was in the kit. Well I only finished one yesterday,I worked on the other last night and finished it off today.
So I'll be back soon with the three pages!

Dance Album
Some time ago I decided to make an album for my grand-daughter Molly's dancing photos and a record of her achievement at various competitive dance festivals. This week I've been trying to get some more pages done and to find some light at the end of this tunnel of photos I've accumulated from 31 festivals over the last six years........I'm up to Festival 11 so I have a long way to go!!! I wish someone would have told me not to do an album in 8.5 x 11 too......never again, that size is not my cup of tea at all.
Anyhow here's a couple from the batch that I made this week.I won't bore you with all of them!
This one I'm going to enter in in Merly's Impressions challenge over on their blog. The Challenge this month is for a layout with journalling.
and here's the journalling
This one has the photos from the previous year journalling her successes over three festivals in 2009
and the journalling to go with it
Do pop over to Merly's blog and have a go at the challenge yourself.

Just a couple.......
Yes that's right, that is all I have done since the teacher's book. This and that has somehow managed to stop me getting on with any scrapping. End of term concerts shared between five children, dancing festivals, had a bit of work done on the garden and so it goes on. Oh well! Hopefully things might slow down a little soon but in the meantime I'll just upload the two pages I have done.
Charlie was awarded the Music Prize at the last day of term assembly at school. He also took his first piano exam a few days prior to that. As both events were so near to each other I decided to document both together.
I love this photo of Sophie walking along, what looks like a deserted Daytona beach in Florida with her Daddy. In actual fact the beach was pretty busy but Sian managed to catch this photo with no " strangers" popping into the picture.
I used my new Tim Holtz Sunray stencil that I bought at the retreat for the sun background, some modelling paste and finished it off by spraying it with mist.

Change of plans!
Well I was going to do some gardening and then pop to the shops until I saw this layout on Merly Impressions blog this morning
I just loved the way Ali, from the design team, has used some of the collectables from Kairsercraft's Mr Fox collection. One of the layouts we made at the retreat used the same collection and I had virtually a bag full left over from that.So what's a girl got to do than to forget about the gardening and there was nothing I was in deperate need of from the shops so I got to work and came up with this.
While I'm here I'll just add the ones that I did over the last few days too.
Surprising how much mojo a couple of days at a retreat gives you. I wonder how long it will last!!
Thanks for popping by x
