Baby Book

Well I've finally finished the Baby Board Album that I started some weeks ago and then had to leave to get on with some Christmas Cards.

It's a 7 x 5 chipboard tabbed book that I bought last year from Ally Pally and I've used Webster Pages Lullaby Lane papers with some extra little bits from stash.

We had a good Card evening at DD2 last night and there's £50 on it's way to Marie Curie Cancer Care out of the proceeds. For the past three years DD2 has held this evening for me to sell some of my cards & bits & bobs. I send 25% of the proceeds on to Marie Curie as a very small thank you for the support they gave me & both DD's and especially to my husband during the last week of his life.
Unfortunately we didn't have as many people there this year as some of the usual people had already made previous arrangements to go into town to watch the Christmas Lights switch on. We must make sure it doesn't clash again next year !

Hi, I'm still here !!

Yes I'm still here. Had a bit of a shock when I saw how long ago it was since I've posted on this blog.

I've been away to Cyprus for a couple of weeks and up to Wales for a few days since the last post so haven't done much scrapping at all, well non really !!! Then last week-end Molly was dancing at Royston Festival, so had to go and watch!! Made it all worth while though as she won the cup at her Ballet and came 2nd in her song & Dance. Then yesterday it was my birthday and both my daughters treated me to a visit to the theatre to see Hairspray...fab show.
I've started in putting this no crafting time to right though and I'm in the middle of making a baby board book using the gorgeous Lullaby Lane papers from Webster's.
The problem with me is that if a project take too long or I end up having too many interuptions I loose interest in it, which is what happened this week. All good intentions to do a few more pages but I got side tracked and made a few cards instead.
Bought a new Christmas Stamp and a Papermania embossing folder which arrived at the beginning of the week, so what's a girl got to do?...try them out immediately of course...which is what I did !!!
Whilst I was at it I made a couple of baby cards too.
So just to be getting on with here's a few cards I made.

I'm off now to try my new Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die, which arrived yesterday. Oops! there I go again......will try and finish the baby books first though I think !

Now I'm playing catch-up !

Yes that's right, I'm running out of time to make and have enough variety for the school fayre on Saturday ! I do this every year and every year I say I'm going to be a bit more organized the following year....oh well onwards & upwards as they say !
Here are a few that I've made over the last couple of days.

Fathers day ones to start with :

Some packs of thank you notes, sorry about the image I had already packaged them up !

The apple teacher "thank you" one next.I saw a similar one on someones blog/gallery sometime ago, I sketched it very roughly at the time and now I can't find it. So I had to make a lot of it from memory.I did however remember that there was a big apple that made up the background which I cut with the cricut. I roughly inked this with some chalk inks to get the appearance of a real apple and added a Magnolia image to it. I don't like the fact that they don't have mouths, so I add them in...oops I hope the designer of these stamps don't mind !!!

A couple of baby ones.

and finally a Sarah Kay image

Websters Pages

Whilst surfing from one site to another last week I came across Websters Pages in 6 x 6 pads. Now I love their 12 x 12 sheets, not tried them yet though but will do soon, so when I saw the smaller petit pads I thought how lovely these would look on cards. So here is my first card with some of the paper from the pad

.
I also made a couple more baby cards for the stock. The Pram one is cut from the Cricut Wild Card cart and the " waiting for you " is from scraps of October Afternoon Ducks in a Row.

I'll be back soon with some more Webster Pages Cards, I'm hooked now !!!

Baby Baby !!

Monday already ! Hope everyone had a nice week-end.

We've been discussing the Wild Card Cart on the Cricut social group over at UKS and it made me look at more of the card cuts on there. I've not made many cards with this cart although I've had it for a very long time. Naughty really I should use them more.
Anyhow, I needed some baby cards for my stall so delving into my partly used stash box I found some My Little Yellow Bicycle papers that was left over from one of the Baby Albums I made last year, together with some Ducks in a Row by October Afternoon. I won't bore you with all five of the same shaped cards but here is one of them, made with the safety pin shaped card. Quite cute I think !I tweeked it a little with the Design Studio software just to make it fit lengthways into a DL envelope as I couldn't be bothered to make the envelope from the cart!

I also had some die cuts left over from the Ducks paper and some animal rub ons so while I had it out I also made this one.

Well back to some more crafting and make some more bits for my stall. First school fayre in a week on Saturday.

Cheap to make Christmas Cards

I went into Staples a couple of days ago and while I was waiting to pay for my bits & pieces there was a basket full of christmas tags complete with a die cut chipboard embelishment stuck onto the front of them....9 tags for £1.50 bargain I thought ! I could pull them apart and use the penquin, santa's hat & the stocking on some small modern like, 4" square cards !!!! I then passed a cheapy christmas shop that's obviously on a temporary lease and found these lovely chipboard bauble tags for 50p a packet.
I really like the simplicity of the 4" cards so I think I'll make another trip to Staples and get a few more packets LOL

I've also made a couple of Baby girl cards with some left over October Afternoon " Ducks in a Row" pp. I lifted these from Moralia's blog....wow she has some fantastic cards on there, do pop over to have a look

Right, back to some more christmas makes for my stall. Have a good week-end everyone.

Yeh ! Ist Baby book upload

At last I've got round to finishing the cover of the "girl" baby book. The actual pages have been made a couple of weeks ago. I didn't have my thinking cap on when I started these ( nothing new there! ). I'd ordered 2 Bind it All cover all to make this book and the boy book, made all the pages and put them in their page protectors, then the cover all arrived and that was when I discovered, although I had ordered the 8 x 8 covers they were obviously not going to fit if the actual pages were in page protectors now were they....so I had to do a bit of cutting and covering up..to the cover all that is.So the cover all is no longer a cover all !!!
