No butterflies !

Over at Sarah's Cards blog here
Rachael one of the ladies on the design team has put up a lovely class.Loved what she's done with the buterflies but sadly having chosen this paper by My Minds Eye ( love their stuff)it was turning a bit masculine in my opinion so I left the butterflies and the lace off and replaced them with hearts, stars & buttons !!!
Pop over and have a look at the class, you'll love it !

I'm off to wash my hair now as I'm off to lunch with both DD's.They're leaving me to fend for myself as they're off to Cyprus tomorrow for a girlie week-end with 6 other friends. Not only are they leaving me one of them has left her children here too !!! Well from tomorrow night till Saturday, after the dancing classes when their Dad will re-claim them !

Sunday Update

Well it's been raining here all morning, so much for the promised heatwave !!! The sun is now trying to break through so I'll have to do a bit of gardening after all but just before I start I thought I would just post the latest cards.

Have a nice Sunday everyone !

Take Three Stars & Kraft Cardstock !

Yes that's what I did this morning. I have some squares of Kraft cardstock that needed to be used up, together with some small pieces of pp that would otherwise have been thrown away as there really wasn't enough to keep them for scrapbooking.
I also had some very old stash in the form of some Bazzil Chip Toppers that I bought when I first started making cards, yonks ago now. Don't know why I had to have so many of them though, but I am finally really making a dent in them all now.
So nine stars, 3 squares of Kraft, a few bottons and a sewing machine and there you go, three greeting cards.

Last night I found that the Mickey & Friends Cricut Cart had a handbag on it, so off I delved into my christmas stash for some glitter card and came up with this.

Quite a few people ask me when I have a stall at the craft fair whether I have cards with Mum, Dad, sister or whatever on. I made a lot of "relatives" cards over Christmas and they went like hot cakes......it seems that people are more likely to buy hand made cards if they are for someone special. The flowers on this Mum card came from the same freebie sheet that was inside the Kaiser Craft Mag that I mentioned yesterday. I cut the Mum out of the Storybook cart on the cricut, again using some scraps......I'll never get through my mountain of stash if I carry one using these scraps though !!

While I had the Storybook carts out I decided to make this one....plain & to the point I think.

Using some more old stash came up with this one. The stickers for the alphas came from a scrapbooking pack that I bought in the US a couple of years ago, I liked the colours at the time but I've used very little of it to be honest.

Now that I've got some more cards out of the way and into the box I can now hopefully do a bit of scrapbooking. I got the most fab kit from Sarah's Cards in the post today and I can't wait to hunt down some suitable photos......there's butterflies galore on some of the pp....lovely !

A fairly Productive Sunday

Yes I made a few cards yesterday. It was a choice of getting out into the garden or crafting.......I decided that the garden could wait until today! And yes, I did do some gardening today and washed the car....something I don't do very often !! The need was there today as some cheeky Albatross ( judging by the size) had decided to leave his calling card all over the roof !!!!
Here are my cards from yesterday.
Using some stash left over from one of Sarah's cards kit for the first.

These three are inspired from some I liked in Card Trends magazine.

I've made four of these to package up as a set. I was a little disappointed, as I ordered some blank cards from Craftworks Cards....a. I had to ring them up on Friday to see where my order had got to as it had been over a week and b. I must have ordered the wrong size as these blanks are a little small in my opinion for birthday cards. Never mind I'll just have to order the next size up !

This one I made with some diecuts that came free with the third issue of Kaiser Craft Magazine so I thought I would just use them up !

Using up bits !

I have a little bit of my February kit left over so I though I'd use some of it to make cards. Quite like this colour scheme..green & blue. This was for my neighbour who's birthday is today.

I bought some orange pre scored cards last year......I'm still asking myself why really as I wouldn't say I'm all that keen on orange but I'm beginning to warm to it !! So I made a quick card with it for my craft stall stock. I've also used my EK Success punch for them both, love this punch and it punches out so easily.

New Digi Stamp

I bought some New Digi Squiggle Stamps last week and this is the first image I've coloured in from one of the three I bought. I think he's so cute and great for a childs card. My friend Tracy is on the design team and it's her turn this week to do the challenge. She has a lovely sketch on her blog and a fabby price for the lucky winner. Do pop over and have a look.

I also made a couple of cards out of Kraft card stock last night too. I've seen so many cards made with Kraft that I thought I'd give it a go. It looks so effective with the right colours I think. The " for you" card is a lift of a card I saw while I was looking through Two Peas Gallery and I'm ashamed to say I can't remember who it was now. It was made from a Hero Arts Stamp on there but I don't have the stamp so I improvised !

I had the nestability mat already cut out from the above card so to use it up I quickly made this wedding card....I really like this, there's something quite quirky about it :)

I made this one last week for my friend Tracy. It was her birthday on Monday but I was late and posted it on Saturday morning completely forgetting that it was a bank holiday week-end. I just hope she got it on Tuesday !
