A Special Day

Today would have been a very special day if things had turned out differently to what they did 10 years ago.
On Saturday April 26th 1969 Richard & I got married in my home town in North Wales, so today would have been our Ruby Wedding anniversary.

Happy Anniversaray Rich, sweet dreams sweetheart x.

Week 17.

It's already week 17 of the SLYMI challenge on UKS. I got mine done early this week. The challenge was to use layers and lace. Well there's certainly enough layers on this LO. I cut the butterflies on the Cricut from the Home accent cartridge and covered them in different colour stickles. The spot background paper is by Piggy Tales from the Gingerbread Man range, so is the two strips of paper under the photo, a cut out from Making Memories Ledger and finally a 12x12 Transparancy by Hambly which is the vintage circle one.I also cut some flowers from another sheet of the Gingerbread Man paper and embossed them with some cuttlebug embossing plates in the big shot. It was a bit of a nightmare to photograph the LO though because of the transparacy, but got there in the end, not a perfect photo but acceptable.

Latest Cards & an LO

I missed last weeks challenge on the SLYMI on UKS which was to have borders on your LO as life just got in the way, it does that to people sometimes !. Anyhow, this weeks challenge was scrap in the morning. That was no problem for me as morning starts anytime after midnight.....I'll say no more !

I've also made a few more cards for my stock in preparation for the craft fayres.Well the anniversary card wasn't for the box, I had to post that to someone !

Young Scrapper

Emily came round on Wednesday morning and bought with her the scrapbook that her Godmother bought her last year and a photo of her on the first day of school in 2007

She's been waiting patiently to be here on her own so she could do a layout. In truth I think she wanted to be let loose in my scraproom ! She spotted the latest issue of Scrapbook Etc and said she wanted to do a layout like the one on the cover !! It didn't look too difficult so we set about to look for suitable paper. I kept her well away from my " best" paper and allowed her to look through the box that I keep to make cards with.
Having sorted the paper out, I gave her some ribbon & ric rack and put away the craft knife,I didn't want everything covered in blood!!
I was then ordered to go away and "she could do it herself" I was called up a few times, three times in all, to cut a flower on the cricut, stick the ric rack on as the glue wasn't working and the last call was a desperate one with a " Quick Nanny Quick" I actually thought the house must be on fire with the desperation in her voice, all was sorted out when it was only the fact that she had stuck the i before the t in the word cutie and she didn't know how to get it off before the glue dried. With that rescued all was fine but I was speechless when I saw what she had produced, it was, if I say it myself, quite stunning for an 8 year old. Here's the photo of the mag and what she scraplifted.

Some new Punches

This is what my darling No 1 daughter brought me back from Florida, isn't she a darling, can't wait to play now.

In the meantime here's a couple of fathers day cards I made earlier today. The star one was cut out on the Cricut from the Wild Card Cart

A few more Cards

Had a bit of a card making day today to add to the box in preparation of the two card fayres I do. I'm going well this year, hopefully no last minute panic attacks nearer the dates if I carry on this way.
Just a blank any occasion card for the first:

A childrens birthday for the second:

This is sinilar to my neighbours card from yesterday. There was bits of paper left over, shame to waste it !

and finally a Baby Girl card. When I'd put all this together I realized I hadn't considered where to put the greeting. Oh well, it's pretty obvious I think what the card is for !

Update for the week

Neglected this little blog all week. Here's a bit of an update of what I've been up to with paper & glue since the last posting.

Made this LO for the SLYMI challenge on UKS. I've forgotten which week it is though, I think it's for week 14...scrap something hidden. My mojo had gone AWOL and I could only come up with hidden journalling !!!

I also made a Betty Boob card for Emily's 8th birthday. She was thrilled with it as she's a big fan.

It's my neighbours birthday tomorrow, so I made her a card. I had to be careful with this as her daughter reads this blog and she's an awesome scrapper and also makes beautiful cards. So the card had to be up to scratch !!!!!!

Just a couple of cards to catch up

Just two of the cards I made last week.
First one is a very quick make Fathers Day Card made with the Wild Card Cart on the Cricut. Great way to make quick cards as the machine does it all for you really. All that's left to do is to stick a couple of pieces of paper on !
Second one is a Sarah Kay image and the card is for a UKS friend who's birthday is today .....Happy Birthday Tracy.
